Hi! I’m a lifestyle, portrait and underwater photographer. My style is very whimsical, bold, with lots of color. I express storytelling through concepts, often inspired by a specific location, prop or wardrobe. I’m passionate about branding and working with others to create the perfect marketing imagery for personal or business endeavors. I also shoot with several families, couples, kids and pets, as well as professionals in the health and wellness, animal and construction industries, I love working with animals. My master’s thesis, “Rescue Tales” explored the relationship between animals and people, blending reality with fantasy.
My love for underwater photography started about 9 years ago when I found my studio, pool, and home all in one place in the east bay. Having access to a black bottom heated pool and sunny backlight gave me the ability to try something new and create imagery that appeared surreal, dark, and beautiful, with rays of light piercing through, like an ocean environment. I’m naturally attracted to water as I am a Pisces, a water sign. I love being underwater and connecting with just my camera and subject, in a peaceful weightless environment.
I shoot with some of the best gear on the market and scout unique locations every season for my clients. I am a member of APA National (American Photographic Artists) and PPA (Professional Photographers of America). I grew up in Alamo and San Ramon and graduated from the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a MFA in Photography and a double Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Architecture and Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My background before photography is in producing, retouching, marketing and brand management.
I live in Pleasant Hill with my husband, kids, and two energetic Australian Shepherds.
